Professor Minicozzi

Lectures:        1:30 to 2:50 Mondays and Wednesdays in Latrobe 120. 

Overview:    We will follow Colding and Minicozzi's "Minimal surfaces" (notes to be handed out in lecture) and also use Osserman's book as a general reference.  The goal is to assume almost nothing, cover the basic results for classical two-dimensional minimal surfaces, and eventually get to topics of current research.

   There will be written assignments roughly every other week.

First assignment (due Monday 9/29): Do exercises 1 through 13 for Chapter 1.
