Math 645, Fall 2007
Professor Minicozzi
Lectures: MW 9:30 to 10:50.
Office Hours: 2-3 Monday in Krieger 408.
We will follow Do Carmo's Riemannian Geometry book and see how far we can get.
There will be written assignments roughly every other week.
There will be no class on Monday 10/15 (Fall Break Day) and Wednesday 11/21 (the day before Thanksgiving).
Homework:
The homework is the most important part of the course. Everyone is expected to do all assignments by the date due and no late homeworks will be accepted. I encourage you to collaborate with your classmates on the assignments, but each student must write up (and hand in) their own homeworks. The course grades will be determined solely from the homework grades.
Assignment 1 (due Wednesday 9/19): page 31: 2, 5, 8, 9.
Assignment 2 (due 10/3): page 56: 3, 4, 5, 8 AND page 77: 5, 7 and 10.
Assignment 3 (due 11/5): page 100: 2, 5, , 10; page 119: 1, 3 and 8; AND page 139: 5, 11.
