Our aim is to
hold an international conference to cover the progress and developments in the
theory of L-functions and automorphic forms. The power and ubiquity of zeta and
L-functions is beginning to assume legendary proportions. This conference will
bring together world leaders in this field.
Approximately 45-60 participants are expected from the worldwide community of
number theorists, at all stages in their research careers. In addition, it is
hoped to attract and support the attendance of a good number of promising
graduate students currently working towards a Master's or Doctoral degree in the
area.
During the conference, lectures on the more established theory
(e.g. by some of the invited speakers) will have an expository and
consolidating role, particularly for the graduate students present. Other talks
and less formal meetings should provide ample opportunity for the exchange of
ideas and results by those on the current forefront of research in the subject.
This will include not only new and established academics but also those of the
graduate students who are sufficiently advanced in their own research.
